Week beg. 13th Feb
This week we have been getting ready for St David's day by painting daffodils and learning a Welsh song and poem. We also have been exploring frozen dinosaur eggs which led for lots of opportunities for us to use the language of temperature. We had a lot of fun with this activity. Have a look at the pictures of us below.

Dinosaurs caught on camera!
We had a very exciting afternoon on Friday. Harry from the story Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs emailed Class 2 to explain that he had lost his dinosaurs and he asked us to check our CCTV cameras to see if they had come to our school. When we checked our cameras, this is what we found...
We then discussed a plan on how to find the dinosaurs, split up into 2 teams and went on a number hunt to find them. We followed dinosaur footprints on the floor with numbers to 20 on them, which led us to the dinosaurs hiding inside a tent! We then counted the dinosaurs out into 2 buckets using our number bonds to 10 that we learnt in Maths last week.
Well done to the children for their brilliant ideas and teamwork in this activity, they thoroughly enjoyed!

Number Day
We took part in many different number activities on Number Day, including making a human number line up to 15! The classroom was transformed into a number rich environment and the children explored different number activities all day. Thank you for your kind donations towards the NSPCC.

Owl Visit
As part of our Topic 'When I Fall Asleep', Class 1 and 2 were lucky enough to be visited by an owl! The owl was called Arwen and she is a European Eagle Owl. The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and learnt loads about the nocturnal animals. Here are a few pictures:
Pyjama Party
As part of our Topic 'When I Fall Asleep' all the children came in dressed in pyjamas and brought their favourite bedtime story and teddy with them. They re-enacted bedtime routines, transformed the carpet into a cosy, comfy area and read each other their stories. They then decorated pillow cases using fabric pens with night time pictures and images such as stars, moons and owls! After that, we sung some lullabies and had a bed time snack - hot chocolate and toast! This was our favourite part! Here are some pictures:
