Winter paintings
We have been learning about cold colours and using these in our paintings. See photos of us at work in the class gallery.
Feed, feed, feed the birds
This week we have been learning about birds and how to look after them during the Winter. On Monday they all had a chance to make a fat ball to take home to put in their garden for the birds. They also made extra ones to put in our garden. Sophie, Robbie and Saffron got very excited this morning when they saw the birds at the feeder. If you have any spare bread past it's best then feel free to send it in with your child for them to put it on our bird table. For photos go to the class gallery.

P.E.
P.E. has now moved to a Thursday. Please ensure that your child brings P.E. kit (black shorts, white t-shirt, trainers) every week. Can you also ensure that all their clothes are labelled.
Homework
As usual Year 1 children will have homework set on a Friday. This is due back by the Tuesday.
On a Tuesday year 1 children will also have a spelling list sent home. Please can you help your child learn to spell these words. There will be a test every Friday.
All children will continue to bring home reading books. Please can you read a little every night to help develop your child's reading. Practising their sounds and sight words often is also very beneficial. Thank you
