Happy Diwali!
This week we have celebrated the Hindu festival of Diwali- Festival of Lights. We watched a DVD of Sharm and his family celebrating Diwali, made 'Happy Diwali' cards, moulded and painted Diva lamps, coloured rangoli patterns on the playground and tasted a range of Indian food - it was delicious!

Making soup!
We have been very busy in class tasting, chopping and cutting vegetables for our very own soup. We tasted the vegetables raw and cooked and we also had chunky and smooth soup to taste. We are very proud of all our 'little chefs'!

Our bird visitors!
Last week we had unusual feathery visitors to school! They were birds of prey and a range of other birds too, which included some owls, a small American kestrel and a kookaburra! We all had a chance to see the birds, to ask questions and to handle one of the birds! It was really fun!

Snails!!
Yesterday, we went for a walk to look for snails. We then brought some snails back to class with us. Next, we all had a chance to hold them. Robbie said " the snails tickled my hands", Brandon said "they were slimy", Mary-Kate said "I didn't like the feel of them", Cassie said "the little one looked cute", Ffion Still said "they have a shell as a house which has a pattern on it", Ffion Talbot said " when it went up my arm it left a trail". We also observed them closely using magnifying glasses. Finally, we drew the snails. We had lots of fun.
